Operation and Services Update from the MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center
Dear valued customer,
During this health crisis, MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center has put in place emergency programming to ensure that we can continue to provide critical services to our customers while maintaining social distancing protocols for the health and safety of our community, our customers and our staff.
While we are closing our buildings to walk-in traffic, our staff is available by phone and/or email. Please call 508-771-JOBS (5627) and our staff will work with you to find the right solution for you and your family during this challenging time. If you need to leave a message when you call, a career center staff member will respond to your message within 48 hours. Stay well!
Notice to Individuals Currently Receiving Unemployment Benefits
The week ending Saturday, July 25, 2020 was the last week for the $600 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) payment. Eligible beneficiaries will continue to receive their regular benefit payments whether under regular Unemployment Insurance (UI), Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC). If you have questions about your benefit payments please contact the Department of Unemployment Assistance.
The MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center has been pleased to assist our constituents with their unemployment questions while the Department of Unemployment Assistance has been working to provide their services remotely.
As DUA continues to add staff, we will be referring all unemployment questions to their workflow. Please know that we are still providing job search and workforce development services and will be here to assist in your job search efforts. The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) and the Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) are taking a series of actions to assist workers and employers.

All Career Center Seminars (CCS) and Re-employment Services & Eligibility Assessments (RESEA) have been postponed. You can register online for the Virtual Career Center Seminar here. Career Center staff will contact you to confirm your registration. Please be assured that benefits will NOT be impacted as a result.
